DARYL BECKETT A Toronto Ontario Canadian native, is founder of Beckett Hospitality and Beckett’s Cake Balls based in Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas. With over 25 years in the food industry, Daryl is a former Corporate Manager and Franchisee for Canada’s leading franchisor, Tim Hortons, with a store serving over 2,000 Customers a day, (1,500 at Drive-Thru, and 500/600 walk-in). A Dunkin’ Donuts Franchisee, in Albuquerque N.M. across from Kirkland Air Force Base & the V.A. Hospital with customers from Sandia Labs, D.O.E. and Hotel accounts for Holiday Inn Express & Hampton Inn by the Albuquerque airport.
Owner of Beckett’s Daylight Donuts, a retail bakery with large commercial accounts with QT (Quick Trip), all ConocoPhillips store locations in town and Marriott Food Service in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, producing 240 dozen donuts and other food and bakery items daily. I traveled throughout the U.S. during the 1980’s. My father had 4 U.S. Patents, for food packaging. He was the inventor of the metalized patch used in microwave popcorn, for General Mills, Betty Crocker’s ‘POP SECRET’ and ‘ACT II’ Microwave Popcorn. Our Family business was sold in 1989. After the passing of my parents, I wanted to venture into a broader market and returned to the United States. I developed a unique 53’ mobile bakery design after sending it to NASCAR they ask me to come down to their most famous track the Daytona 500! The approval was immediate and a build-out was scheduled, however through a series of events my investors, (two retired NFL players) in 2008-2009 due to the recession could not complete the project. I sent a rendering to the State Fair of Texas as well and they loved it! I introduced Beckett's Cake Balls at the 'Taste Of Dallas' in 2011 and had 4 live TV Interviews. I was invited to be a food concessionaire for an 87-Day Summer event at Fair Park in 2013 and join them for the State Fair in 2013.
